I've been thinking a lot about the fact that no app will really work for you perfectly, because apps are made for the lowest common denominator. Obsidian is just the right level of tweakable that breaks that pattern.
Obsidian handles note-taking as a graph, instead of a list or tagged items. It just really works for my brain, and unlocked something special for me.
It also has millions of plugins, which allow pretty much anything you could imagine. It's made for nerds, so there's really no restrictions with what you can do if you want to.
Stuff like Dataview has almost replaced the need for spreadsheets for me, I can run code or calculations via my notes, add tasks anywhere and aggregate them, it's insane.
It's also amazing as a digital journal, because of it's flexibility.
