Alfred is basically the macOS spotlight but way better. Here's some core things it can do. The lifetime licence was a tough cookie when I got it 4 years ago, but after around 100K usages I feel it's paid itself back.

• Open any file on disk (FAST)
• Open chrome bookmarks (very nice)
• Really good clipboard history
• Global snippets!
• Complex workflows that can do anything if you're brave enough

Note: highly recommend Superkey shortcut for clipboard history (super + c for me)

Getting started

• set Alfred shortcut to cmd + space to replace Spotlight.
